The first international Tribal Animation Film Festival to take place in North East India was a three day event from 1-3 March 2019, organised by the Department of Anthropology, North-Eastern Hill University in Shillong, Meghalaya, at the Old Guest House on the NEHU campus.

Premiere Screening of Abotani, the short animated story from Arunachal Pradesh
The Premiere Screening of the Abotani film, a story based on folklore of Central Arunachal Pradesh, took place on 29 October 2015, at the auditorium at Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
The Chief Guest was Hon Governor, Shri Rajkhowa and Mrs Rajkhowa. Other guests were Shri Tama Mibang, Vice-Chancellor, RGU; Dr K.K. Chakravarty (retired IAS), and Paolo Polesello (Associate Producer of the film)
Book Launch: Tales of the Tribes, folklore from nagaland
The launch of the book titled Tales of the Tribes, Folklore from Nagaland, put together as a collaborative project with Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) in New Delhi. The launch took place at India International Centre, New Delhi on 27 December 2015.

An evening to celebrate the cultures of North East India organised by Adivasi Arts Trust at the Nehru Centre on 27 August 2014, 8 South Audley Street, London W1
The programme included a presentation by Tara Douglas of the Sikkim animation project, and a screening of the film Nye Mayel Kyong and two short documentaries about the making of Abotani (Arunachal Pradesh).
